Aalborg JWOC 2010 O Camp

Centrally located among JWOC Tour terrains

The JWOC Tour is now offering our O camp for everyone who’s joining us at JWOC in the north of Jutland. The O camp allows you to stay with your group whether you come to participate in the public events or to watch the JWOC races – or both.
JWOC has secured a favourable deal with Danhostel Aalborg and Aalborg Hostel Camping og Hytteø, both situated at Skydebanevej 50, 9000 Aalborg. Go to map:

The O camp offers a choice between staying in a youth hostel, renting a cabin or camping. This allows you to choose the kind of accommodation that suits your group, regardless of size. The O camp area is attractively situated close to the Limfjorden inlet and Aalborg's new marina - only 3 km from Aalborg’s city centre.

Arrival and briefing
On Saturday evening, 3 July, the JWOC Tour group organizes a welcome and briefing session for O runners at the camp. The event manager and his staff will present the week’s schedule and answer questions.

Training events
Throughout the entire JWOC week, the O camp offers training events on permanent courses in the following terrains:

• Mølholm 1:10 000 – residential areas, green spaces, parks and marshes (the O camp is plotted on this map)
• Fjordparken 1:5 000 - (O camp plotted on this map)
• Hasseris 1:10 000 - residential areas, parks, roads and trails. This large map includes the pre-training area of Mølleparken and the AOK's club house (O camp plotted on this map).
• Mølleparken 1:7 000 – pre-training map for JWOC national teams (AOK club house plotted on this map). Distance about 4 km from the O camp.
• Aalborg Sygehus Syd (Hospital) and Zoo 1:5 000 - sprint map. Distance about 4 km from the O camp.

O camp facilities
The O camp offers wireless Internet and TV, so you won’t miss out on either the daily JWOC news or the football World Cup in South Africa. Cooking facilities are available.
Within walking distance (1200 m), you will find Aalborg Friluftsbad, which is a large green space with several saltwater pools, springboards, etc. Please note that as O camp participants you have free access throughout the week.
Close by (max. 2000 m) you will find restaurants, pizzerias, a pancake place, cafés and an ice-cream kiosk. A variety of other shops and supermarkets are also available.
